The UIUC Department of Communication offers internships and academic credit for students in their major. For spring 2022, the RORG Team welcomes Sydney Nielsen, who will help promote RORG and distribute knowledge of rain gardens and native plants to campus and the greater public.

Communications
Sydney is a sophomore at UIUC majoring in Communication with Organizational and Cultural Communication concentrations. She is also working towards double minors in Spanish and East Asian Languages and Cultures (Japanese). She loves learning about different languages and cultures and can often be found watching shows/movies and listening to music from different countries around the world. She enjoys traveling and hopes to study abroad in a future semester to further her linguistic and cultural learning. Sydney discovered the Red Oak Rain Garden through her love for plants and can’t wait to learn more about the project while spreading the mission of the project to the community.
